Pucker Up With a Long-Wearing Lipstick On Valentine’s Day

I love Valentine’s Day. Each year, embarrassingly, I can’t help myself and end up wearing some sort of pink or red. Thank god I now have a little girl to dress up too — pink tutu anyone? But today I have a new way to show my obsession for the love holiday. The brilliant new Lancôme Rouge in Love Lipcolor, $25. The formula is long-wear, but without the dry or sticky texture that usually accompanies a long-lasting lipstick. Neither too matte, nor too shiny, it feels like satin on your lips. It is divine. The first time I tried it, my Rouge in Love survived a glass of champagne, too many cheek kisses to count and dinner. By the time I finally washed my face at night it was still holding on.

The shade range is vast, but I suggest you go for a red like 185N, aka Rouge Valentine, duh! It’s the perfect clean warm red, and with New York fashion week in full force, we are getting the scoop that bold red lips — from true reds to Merlot and brick — are hot (we spotted them at the Monique Lhuillier, Zac Posen and Victoria Beckham shows to name a few). No better way to treat yourself to a Valentine’s Day goodie and also invest in a new lipstick that’ll keep you on-trend through fall.
