The Product: Benefit Fakeup Concealer, $24
Why: For many of you, the biggest downside to wearing under eye concealer is the dried-in-the-cracks look that appears about an hour after you put on your makeup. Benefit Fakeup Concealer, $24 aims to fix that by surrounding the makeup with a hydrating ring. Genius. With vitamin E and apple seed extract, it hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines for a silky smooth application. This product literally sinks right into your skin, leaving a swipe of moisture that prevents the cover up from drying and caking. It’s not for those of you who need utra-heavy, spackle-like concealer — I would say this a light-to-medium coverage stick — but it does the job and stays on like a champ. It’s available in a light, medium and deep shades, so it doesn’t leave too much for dark skin tones. However, I used a lighter shade than I typically do to give it a try, and it actually took on a pretty highlight-y appearance, which I loved. I’m going to be sticking with this concealer for a while.
