Twisted Tuesday: “Rainbow Warrior Princess” Braids

I’ve been too busy the last few days dabbling in backstage beauty at New York Fashion Week to braid my own hair, so this week’s Twisted Tuesday look is coming straight from the runway.

I loved what hairstylist Nick Irwin, TIGI’s global creative director, called the “rainbow warrior princess” look he created for the Mara Hoffman spring/summer 2014 fashion show. He added miles of extensions to the models’ hair and then created two very sleek inside out French braids. He finished off the look by wrapping the braids together with a colorful woven belt, which he confessed conveniently covered the area where the extensions met the models’ real hair.
