Twitter was all a buzz when the lovely Sara Bareilles performed with Carol King at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. A memorable collaboration for sure. Also memorable, the Katniss-like braids she sported on the red carpet. Here’s the scoop on how celebrity hairstylist Rolando Beauchamp styled the look using Garnier Fructis products…
Step 1: He prepped hair by applying Garnier Fructis Style Deconstructed Beach Chic Texturizing Spray, $3.49.
Step 2: He then rough-dried it with a blow-dryer to create texture.
Step 3: Next, he created loose corn-row braids from the front to the back of Bareilles’ head.
Step 4: Beauchamp then wrapped the ends of her hair — that were not braided — in different directions around a one and a quarter-inch curling iron.
Step 5: He then applied a small amount of Garnier Fructis Style Deconstructed Move It Manipulating Gel, $4.29 in his hands and worked into Bareilles’ hair, section by section, to create a “roughed-up, slightly slept-in” look.
Step 6: Beauchamp set the entire look with Garnier Fructis Style Extreme Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray, $4.49.
