Now that we’ve unofficially kicked off summer, I’m ready to dive head first into a sunnier makeup look. Think sheer skin, glowing cheeks and a warmer skin tone (created with the help of makeup, of course). To get this look, I’ve recently stashed these two makeup products in my bag. I’m already addicted and it’s not even June.
From the day I started using this BB cream, I was hooked. It offers up the perfect amount of coverage — more than a tinted moisturizer and less than a foundation, SPF 50 (yes, 5-0) and it contains vitamin C to help fade dark spots. If that’s not a triple whammy, I’m not sure what is. Having one product that can do it all is exactly what my busy schedule calls for.
If you want sun-kissed-looking skin that glows, but doesn’t shimmer or sparkle, this is the bronzer for you. What I love even more than the texture and finish is that it comes in four bronze shades, and Bronze 01 is perfect for my very fair skin. It doesn’t make my skin look muddy and it blends in seamlessly. I look instantly more rested and happy with a little bronzer. It’s a small miracle, really.
What products are you banking on to get you through summer?
Beauty editors far and wide sing the praises of Kevyn Aucoin’s cult-favorite, The Sensual Skin Enhancer. Naturally full-coverage, we usually recommended blending it with moisturizer or primer to give it a more sheer application. Not anymore. The folks at Kevyn Aucoin just answered our prayers, (and years of constant nagging) when they introduced the sheer coverage Sensual Skin Tinted Balm, $48 this month (available online soon). With the gorgeous velvety finish of the Enhancer (but more translucent), and the botanicals and peptides of a BB cream, it’s just what we’ve been waiting for. The Tinted Balm blends in easily and let’s my slight freckles peek through. It’ll be my weekend foundation go-to. And the packaging is über fabulous, with a silicone front that allows you to squeeze out just the right amount of product. The only downside? The shade range is slightly limited with only four options.
