Kristen Wiig’s luminous, bronzy makeup is just about perfect for a summer evening — and it’s an incredibly sexy alternative to a grey or black smoky eye. This looks just as gorgeous on all skin tones as well. The best part is, this look uses some of my very favorite makeup products of all time. Try these all-star products yourself:
Start with a primer from your lid to your eye brow to give your shadow grip and staying powder — very important on hot days to avoid shiny lids and creasing shadow. I love the moisturizing Laura Mercier Eye Basics Primer in Linen, $25.
Apply a cream shadow like Joie across the upper lid from the lash line to just above the crease. Try Jouer Crème Eyeshadow in Suede, $20. It’s the perfect swipe-on-with-your-fingers shadow.
Dot a shimmer shadow on the inner corners of the eye to brighten and open your eyes. Try a shimmering nude pink like Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten, $18.
Line the top and bottom lash line with a dark bronzy-brown liner like Chanel Precision Eye Definer in Brun-Cuivré, $29, to keep things natural, yet defined.
Top lashes with a lengthening mascara like Maybelline Full And Soft Mascara in Very Black, $6.
Dust cheeks with a peachy blush. I love MAC Powder Blush in Peachykeen, $21, for it’s subtle and sheer mix of pink, peach and gold shimmer.
Finish the look with a pretty neutral gloss like NARS Lip Gloss in Chihuahua, $25, a soft, sheer guava shade. I’m obsessed with this shade because it’s almost sheer, but pulls together a classic look.
I’m obsessed with bronzy makeup — are you?

It was all about a minimal lip at NYFW. These looks are so purdy that ladies, you might be tempted to use up your oxblood lipsticks as fast as you can. The natural lip made the models look really fresh and beautiful, with a tinge of 90’s grunge — whether paired with an edgy geometric cat eye, a punk smoky eye or an all-over natural face. Most of these looks were created with only the use of lip balm (MAC Lip Conditioner, $15, was often the balm of choice), though some used concealer to tone down redness in the lip and others used nude shades of lip liner. The best trick came courtesy of makeup artist Talia Shobrook at the Jenny Packham show (above). To create an ultra-feminine lip, Shobrook applied Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Seashell, $24 onto the lip’s Cupid’s bow, the curve of the upper lip. This subtle highlighting creates the illusion of a fuller lip and adds definition to lip shape. Adding the final touch, Shobrook lightly dabbed lips with Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Pink Blush, $26. Here are other nude lip looks we loved from New York Fashion week:

New mom Jennifer Garner kept it simple yet decidedly chic at the premiere of her new film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green. With a low-key updo, a glossy nude lip, and a glamorous swath of slate grey shadow, the look is really wearable — even if you’re not hitting the red carpet. The silver-y grey shade is super versatile — sport a smouldering smoky eye like Jennifer rocks or tone it down with a line just along the upper and lower lashes. Try a chubby pencil like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil Shadow, $20, to make it easy to create either look. Since it looks gorg with any lip color it’s the perfect go-to shadow.
